Oklahoma Competes and the 2026 State Chamber Agenda

The State Chamber of Oklahoma launched its 2026 legislative agenda, anchored by principles found in Oklahoma Competes—the organization’s long-term, strategic framework to enhance the state’s competitiveness for economic prosperity and talent.

Oklahoma Competes focuses on four fundamentals of competitiveness—economic climate, infrastructure, education and workforce development, and innovation and entrepreneurship.
The 2026 agenda advances a set of policy priorities under Oklahoma Competes that includes:
- Strengthening the Strong Readers Act and evaluating early childhood education outcomes.
- Modernizing technology transfer and intellectual property laws.
- Expanding research and development incentives.
- Improving incentive accountability through better data collection.
- Directing more R&D funding through universities and industry-aligned partnerships.
- Expanding experiential learning and work-based education.
- Targeting incentives toward advanced industries to drive long-term economic growth.
The Oklahoma Legislative Session begins on Monday, February 2, 2026.
